AT&T Making a Change to Upgrade Policy
Starting yesterday, July 6th, AT&T will begin allowing customers to upgrade a little early. They will allow any customers that are eligible for a standard upgrade, upgrade on any day in the same month of their upgrade eligibility date. For example if a customer that wouldn’t typically be eligible to upgrade until August 29th is know allowed to upgrade anytime in August. I’m sure this will help some people out looking to upgrade when the iPhone 5 comes out.
iPad 2 Launch Day
So tomorrow is the day that the iPad 2 will be released. This release however didn’t see preorders of any kind unlike most every other Apple product that gets released. There have been some rumors that Apple did this to insure that there are lines so they can make some headlines. Either way I’m sure Apple will sell a ton of these and people will be able go get an iPad at many different locations; Apple Store, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Att and Verizon. So hopefully everyone that ones to get one on launch day can get one. Also remember they don’t go on sale until 5 pm. Let us know in the comments if you went and got one.
New Notifications
One of the weaknesses iOS has over its competition is notifications. All other modern OS’s implement a more elegant way to notify of new text messages and emails however in iOS it’s very distracting. So I was thinking of a way that they could make an improvement in the upcoming iOS 5 and than it hit me. Whenever you open up a game that supports game center you get a little pop down notification welcoming you back to game center and than disappears. This will probably be the new way that Apple will do notifications and just build on to what they have.
ATT Offering Customers free Rollover Minutes
Att is currently offering customers free 1000 rollover minutes. Some people have been reporting receiving text but if your not so lucky send them a text at “11113020″ and reply “yes”. It’s about time they give something back.

Windows Phone 7 Launch

Today Microsoft held a event to showcase their new Window Phone 7 devices in New York. They showed off devices from all the usual suspect OEM’s: HTC, LG, Samsung, and some other fresh faces from Dell. A total of 10 devices were shown off and they really give you a wide variety of choice. Now for the time being Microsoft is only releasing phones on ATT and T-Mobile for more reason than not, there GSM. I think Microsoft is doing it right by making manufacturers have there phones meet a certain spec list; giving consumers a constant experience from phone to phone. I think it will work out better in the long run then what is currently being done for Android. There were some interesting devices shown off today and right in time for the holiday season. We will have to wait and see what the holidays bring.
Angry Birds Update

Angry birds has just been updated and quite the update it is. It finally supports retina display and also game center support. New levels have also been added so hit up the app store and start updating.
iPad Soon to be Available at even more Locations
Engadget recently broke news that the iPad would soon be available for purchase at Target. However I have heard that soon all Best Buy locations will begin selling the iPad just in time for the holidays. Currently only Apple certified Best Buy’s have been selling the iPad but soon you will be able to walk into any Best Buy and pick one up. This should definitely help sell more iPads this holiday season for customers who dont live near an Apple store or Apple certified Best Buy.
Netflix finally released for iPhone
They said it was coming this summer and it finally made it into the App Store. Netflix was released earlier this week and since has had huge success in the App store currently listed as the 1 app in free download. If you haven’t already download it now and check it out. Obviously you will need a Netflix account to stream videos but the videos work over 3G and WiFI.
Apple holding a Event September 1st
In case you haven’t heard Apple will be holding its annual September iPod even next week at the Yerba Buena center in San Francisco. There has been much speculation that they will reveal new iPod Touches with front face cameras for use with FaceTime, a new retina display and new body design. There are also rumors about new iPod nano’s with touch screens. The new iPod lines are almost a guarantee since Apple every year releases a new update to the iPods but the biggest surprise maybe an Apple TV; named iTv. There is suppose to be a complete redesign of the current Apple TV more the size of an iPhone/iPod Touch and also a new price point at $99 dollars. There has also been a lot of talk about Apple doing .99 cent Tv show rentals on a pay per use basis and it will run iOS apps. The app store already has Netflix and Hulu so they already have a really good streaming video base now if they can finally release a new iTunes with streaming it would be all good. As usual many tech sites will be doing live streams of the event so check out Engadget or your other favorite sites for the latest news.
