They said it was coming this summer and it finally made it into the App Store. Netflix was released earlier this week and since has had huge success in the App store currently listed as the 1 app in free download. If you haven’t already download it now and check it out. Obviously you will need a Netflix account to stream videos but the videos work over 3G and WiFI.
An app that I came across that it’s pretty cool is Bing’s Top 100 by Year. Its an app that lets you listen to the top 100 songs in that year dating all the way back to 1947, think of it like Pandora. The songs are shuffled through randomly over WiFi, 3G and Edge. There is a free app with a Bing add about every 4 songs; there is also a paid app at 1.99 which doesn’t have the ads. This app will be really nice when Apple released 4.0 for background music to play. Its fun to listen to years and hear songs that you more than likely forgot existed and some you probably wish you forgotten Since the app is free give it a shot what do you have to lose.
AppAdvice which has been all over iPad app announcements just released another new announcement an Netflix app. The app will be a free and available at launch April 3. It will allow Netflix subscribers to stream an unlimited amount of tv and movies just like they would on their computer or game system. Starting to think i should have pre-ordered one.
Head over to the App store and download the update to Facebook. For some reason mine didn’t pop up showing there was an update but search and it will come up. Hopefully it fixes all the problems people have been having.
ATT has an application called ATT Mark the Spot, and is avaialble free to download in the App store. This application is made to allow users to give ATT feedback about bad reception. The user is able to submit a report of dropped call, failed call, lack of coverage, data service failure, or poor voice quality. ATT then sends and SMS, (hopefully free), to let you know that they received the report. Hopefully ATT uses this information to help get their coverage better but we will have to wait and see.

I have been using Sports Tap now for almost a week and so far it hasn’t let me down. The app allows you to follow all your favorite sports team’s from the NFL all the way to Tennis. In the setting’s panel it allows you to customize all the sports that you want to see on your home screen when you first launch the app. From that point on you can click on any of the sports icon to get all the latest news and scores from around the league.
Features
Sports tap also allows you to follow all local sports teams and also has a handy feature called local tap which pulls up all the local teams and games being played. The reason this apps stands out over most sports app’s is cause it is the first sports app to offer push notification. Now I have been testing it out for the past week following the Philadelphia Phillies and I would say that it works very well. You get notifications when the game starts when the score changes and when the game is over. It is very nice to have when your not able to sit and watch the game you can still keep up with the score. Now I tested to see how long it took for a notification to come once the score changed and I would put at under a minute which is very good. Also it gives you scoring highlights of who on the team scored and also player stats for the game. It also shows who is currently pitching and up to bat. The one thing nice about the notification feature is that you can temporally turn it off under the settings so you don’t always get notified if you get the chance to watch the game you dont need your phone chiming every time there is a run.
Verdict
The only thing really negative about the app right now is that there is only push support for MLB and CFL but more sports are sure to come. Overall the app works very well. It’s ease of use and functionality make it one of my preferred apps for sports scores and stats. I would recommended this to any baseball fan out there so check out this app its free and in the app store right now.
